DJ Khaled, Rihanna & Bryson Tiller Debut Inside The Top 10 While 'Despacito' Rules Again
“Despacito” continues to rule here in the United States, and no song seems to be even close to challenging it for the top spot on the all-encompassing Hot 100. The Spanish/English song, which is fronted by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee and which features Justin Bieber (whose presence helped it vault to the top spot on the tally), has now ruled for seven consecutive frames.
Steady in second and third place are DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One” and Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like,” respectively. Khaled’s Grateful single, which features hip-hop talents Lil Wayne, Quavo, and Chance The Rapper, as well as pop star Justin Bieber (yes, he owns the top two positions in the U.S. yet again), originally debuted at No. 1 almost two months ago, and since then it hasn’t dropped below the top five. Mars’ most recent chart-topper—the seventh of his career—is continuing to keep his album 24k Magic afloat, and this week it holds inside the top 10 on the Billboard 200 for yet another frame.
The sole new title inside the top 10 this week belongs to DJ Khaled, who for the first time in his career sees his name appear inside the uppermost region in two different positions simultaneously. The producer begins his new single “Wild Thoughts” at No. 4 thanks to heavy promotion and media coverage, an eye-catching video released at the same time the song was first debuted and some superstar friends, which seems to be how Khaled continues to win. The song features vocalists Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, who both earn new placements inside the top 10. This is top 10 No. 31 for Rihanna, while it’s the first appearance inside the region for Tiller, who just recently debuted his sophomore album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The song is just the third top 10 effort for Khaled, with two of those singles appearing on the just-released Grateful.
Ed Sheeran’s 12-week chart leader “Shape Of You” is still holding on inside the top five, landing in fifth place this time around. The song hasn’t vacated the area since it first started at No. 1 back in January.
Hip-hop owns positions six through eight, with Kendrick Lamar’s only solo No. 1 hit “Humble.” resting at No. 6, Future’s “Mask Off” sliding to No. 7 and Post Malone and Quavo’s “Congratulations” settling at No. 8.
